Cardiovascular Research and Clinical Trials
HonorHealth Research Institute has one of the largest and most comprehensive programs in cardiovascular medicine in Arizona with a dedicated team of clinician scientists and research professionals.
Research trials spanning every cardiovascular specialty
HonorHealth Research Institute’s Cardiovascular Research Division has one of the largest groups of cardiovascular specialists and research professionals in Arizona. With several dozen clinician-scientists and more than 20 research professionals making up this division, we are involved in approximately 120 clinical trials spanning every discipline within cardiovascular medicine. For more than 20 years, the HonorHealth commitment to research and innovation in cardiovascular medicine has advanced science, but more importantly, brought these lifesaving therapies to our community. From atrial fibrillation to heart failure, stents to valves, AI to robotics, or novel drugs to surgical approaches, the depth and breadth of investigation is unparalleled.
Legacy
The Cardiovascular Research Division was founded in 2006, preceded by clinical trials at Scottsdale Healthcare. For more than 20 years, HonorHealth Research Institute has been involved in some of the most important aspects of cardiovascular research. This has included novel coronary stent therapies, pioneering developments in treating myocardial infarction and shock, pioneering outcomes in cardiovascular surgery, treating complex vascular disease, novel pacemakers and defibrillators, and catheter-based valve treatments. The Research Insitute has been involved in many “firsts” in these areas, and this pioneering work has often resulted in these therapies being offered at the Institute before widespread use in the general community.
Cardiovascular Care Advances
The first bioabsorbable stent, an MRI compatible ICD, percutaneous mitral valve repair, dual-chamber leadless pacemaker, leadless pacemaker connected to a subcutaneous ICD.
