Our Areas of Focus

The Neuroscience Research Division, led by Todd Levine, M.D., is made up of five specialized programs: Neurology, Neurosurgical, Neurovascular, Neurotrauma and Neuro-Oncology. Each program is dedicated to advancing care, research and innovation in its area of expertise.

  • Neurology focuses on a wide range of neurological conditions, including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Migraines, movement disorders (such as Parkinson’s disease and Essential Tremor), Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Myasthenia Gravis, and various Myopathies.
  • Neurosurgical specializes in minimally invasive procedures, device trials, and treatments for back pain, Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD), and Spondylolisthesis.
  • Neuro-Oncology is dedicated to the treatment of various brain and spine tumors.
  • Neurotrauma addresses Spinal Cord Injuries and Traumatic Brain Injuries, working to improve outcomes and recovery.
  • Neurovascular focuses on all types of strokes and aneurysms, aiming to enhance stroke prevention, acute care, and long-term recovery.

Research is conducted across the HonorHealth network, including at the Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute, and at the Scottsdale Osborn, Deer Valley and John C. Lincoln medical centers.

The division actively collaborates with pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, contract research organizations, and academic institutions to bring clinical trials across multiple phases to our patients. In addition to industry-sponsored studies, the division also conducts investigator-initiated trials, reflecting our commitment to advancing medical knowledge and discovering breakthrough treatments.

At the heart of our mission are our nationally recognized investigators and researchers, who work side-by-side to deliver innovative, personalized care to every patient. This unwavering dedication places the Neuroscience Research Division at the forefront of neuroscientific research and patient-centered care.

Neuroscience Care Advances

Since its launch in 2015, the Institute’s Neuroscience Research Division has built a strong reputation as a leading center for innovation in the Southwest.

We proudly offer the most comprehensive selection of neuroscience clinical trials in the greater Phoenix area, advancing care and expanding treatment options for our community.

HonorHealth’s remarkable achievements in neuroscience research include:
  • Since its inception, the division has played a pivotal role in supporting 18 FDA approvals.
  • Committed to long-term patient safety, the division continues to collaborate closely with FDA pharmacovigilance efforts to ensure the highest standards of patient safety.

Neuroscience Research Facts and Figures

The division has published over 250 peer-reviewed journal articles, contributing significantly to the scientific community and advancing the field of neuroscience.

The division is comprised of over 30 active investigators, each contributing to a growing portfolio of research. As the division continues to expand, that number is expected to increase, further strengthening our capacity to drive innovation, advance clinical trials, and improve patient outcomes.

The number of FDA approvals will continue to grow as we drive innovation in therapies and technologies through rigorous research, strategic collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to advancing patient care.
