Research Interests & Focus

Some of Dr. Allison Steele’s goals, as well as research interests, aim to evaluate the efficacy of combining novel obesity medications, such as GLP-1 receptor agonists and dual GIP/GLP-1 agonists, with both operative and non-operative management strategies, including exercise physiology, dietetics and psychological care. By integrating these modalities, the research seeks to quantify synergistic effects on weight reduction, quality of life, and cardiometabolic markers compared to medication, operative or non-operative interventions alone. The primary goal is to optimize weight loss outcomes, improve metabolic health, and enhance patient adherence through tailored interventions.
