Biography

Dr. Venkat Gangadharan is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with advanced training from Virginia Commonwealth University in interventional cardiology, following his general cardiology fellowship at East Tennessee State University. With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Gangadharan is deeply involved in cutting-edge research and education.

His academic and clinical interests include complex coronary artery disease, invasive management therapies for hypertension, including renal denervation and peripheral venous disease, with active involvement in both superficial and deep venous therapies. He contributes as a primary and sub-investigator in multiple clinical trials, helping to advance innovative cardiovascular therapies.

In addition to his clinical and research roles, Dr. Gangadharan is committed to training the next generation of physicians. He plays an active role in the education of cardiovascular fellows at HonorHealth, and mentors both medical students and research fellows, fostering a collaborative and inquisitive learning environment.

Research Interests & Focus

Dr. Gangadharan’s research interests include the management of hypertension, complex coronary arterial disease, invasive and long term management of pulmonary embolism and pulmonary arterial HTN, including participating in national trials for the novel treatment of these conditions. He also works in peripheral venous disease, including superficial and deep venous therapies, serving as primary and sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials.
Dr. Gangadharan’s clinical focus has long been to improve the management of acute and chronic venous insufficiency and its deleterious long-term sequelae, including prevention of limb loss, venous ulcerations and all phases of post thrombotic syndrome.
