Biography

Danielle is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Sub-Investigator at the HonorHealth Research Institute in Scottsdale. She brings over 15 years of Oncology experience and has a strong foundation in early-phase clinical research, having served as a sub-investigator on more than 100 Phase I and II anti-tumor clinical trials.

She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, completing her graduate studies in 2022 to become a certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

Danielle began her Oncology nursing career immediately after graduation and quickly developed a deep connection to the patient population. She joined HonorHealth Research Institute in 2015 as a research nurse, gaining extensive experience in early-phase clinical drug development.

After earning her nurse practitioner credentials, she transitioned into her current role, contributing to the Institute’s robust Phase I clinical trial program with a specialty focus in pancreatic cancer research and early cancer detection. She is dedicated to advancing cancer care through research innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate, patient-centered care.

Research Interests & Focus

Sarah Danielle LeGrand’s research interests include the treatment of pancreatic cancer, early cancer detection, and enhancing the delivery of Phase I clinical trials. She is also particularly focused on the role of advanced practice providers in early-phase research.
She currently serves on the board for the HonorHealth’s Oncology Advanced Practice Clinical Investigator Intensive Course, which provides foundational knowledge to oncology advanced practice providers on the responsibilities of the principal investigator, sub-investigator, and roles of the broader research team in early drug development.
