Angelena Dabeneh — Regulatory Affairs Coordinator for HonorHealth Research Institute

Question: How long have you been with HonorHealth?

Answer: A Year and a half.

Q: At what point in your life did you decide you wanted to have a career in research?

A: I lost loved ones to cancer and have always wanted to contribute to this important cause. It is rewarding to help people understand that research is a care option, if they are under- or non-insured, or if they have exhausted all approved medications.

Q: What is a work-related accomplishment you are proud of?

A: I am proud of the mentoring and training opportunities HonorHealth has given me that I can pass down to my team. I want people to know that clinical research is a viable and rewarding career path.

Q: Why is it so important to encourage, both, younger and diverse groups to pursue a career in research?

A: It is important that we share our knowledge so that we prevent significant resourcing gaps within our clinical research community. It is also vital that we encourage diverse physicians, nurses and administrative staff to seek careers in research. This is the best way to ensure that we are able to reach a diverse patient population, which is critical in developing medicines that work for us all.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself?

A: The biggest driver in my career is the deep-seeded desire to find treatments and cures. I know that my work in Regulatory Affairs supports HonorHealth’s top researchers in finding and advancing cancer treatment and increasing lifespan and quality of life for cancer patients.
