Our Story
Institute staff’s empathy-based care generates hope and answers.
At HonorHealth Research Institute, success is most evident in the comments and feelings expressed by patients and their families.
Not only are patients often grateful for the restoration of their own health, but they are grateful to have participated in an enterprise that helps other patients and whose outcomes will resonate exponentially into the future to benefit all humanity. Even when patients do not survive their illness, their family members return time and time again to ask, “How can we help?”
Over more than two decades, the Research Institute has evolved from a testing platform for new drugs and devices to a proactive setting in which patients’ lives are not only extended but enhanced.
Members of the Institute — physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, technicians and support staff — pride themselves in caring for others, providing a true measure of empathy that is reflected in the ideal that they treat patients as they themselves would want to be treated. Where elsewhere, patients eventually are told there is no more that can be done for them, relentless innovators at the Institute continuously expand the realm of possibilities to produce new avenues of hope, novel treatment opportunities, and answers.
The Institute’s ability to provide leading-edge therapies has attracted patients from all 50 states and nearly 30 nations to our Phoenix-area treatment centers.
To continue producing world-leading therapies, HonorHealth Research Institute has opened a new laboratory in downtown Phoenix, leaning into our collaborative nature and joining dozens of other bioscience research organizations, including the medical schools of both Arizona State University and the University of Arizona, on the city’s bioscience campus.
The new laboratory reflects the Institute’s commitment to its new Center for Translational Science, which will turn biomedical discoveries into real-world applications.
In addition, the Institute’s Center for Clinical Investigations tests clinical trial innovations across five divisions: Oncology, Cardiovascular, Neuroscience, Bariatric/GI and Multispecialty, which includes development of pioneering advances in the areas of autoimmune diseases, pulmonary disease, breast cancer, and more. The Research Institute and its partners combine cutting-edge science with exceptional care to accelerate innovations that extend what is possible for patients with challenging illnesses.
