A Message From Our Program Leader
The comprehensive stroke center at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center is privileged to serve our community and provide cutting-edge treatment for acute ischemic stroke and cerebrovascular occlusions and stenosis.
Advancing the science and treatment of cerebrovascular disease through innovation, collaboration, and patient-centered care.
The Neurovascular Program at the HonorHealth Research Institute integrates clinical excellence with translational research to advance the care of cerebrovascular disease. Located within the Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute, the program brings together neurosurgeons, neurologists, neurointerventionalists, imaging specialists, and research teams in a collaborative environment designed to accelerate discovery and improve patient outcomes.
Our mission is to transform the treatment of stroke and complex vascular disorders through innovation, education, and clinical investigation. The program provides comprehensive care for a broad spectrum of intracranial and spinal vascular diseases, including cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), dural and spinal fistulas, vascular lesions of the spinal cord, carotid artery stenosis, and ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. Patients benefit from advanced diagnostics and individualized treatment strategies that incorporate both minimally invasive endovascular therapies and microsurgical techniques.
By bridging academic rigor with community-based care, the program enables rapid translation of scientific discoveries into real-world treatment. Investigators collaborate with industry and academic partners to develop and evaluate next-generation devices, imaging methods, and therapeutic approaches aimed at improving safety, durability, and recovery after neurovascular intervention.
Education is central to the program’s philosophy. Through hands-on training, live case demonstrations, and interdisciplinary conferences, clinicians and trainees learn advanced techniques while contributing to ongoing research efforts. This learning environment ensures that innovation directly enhances clinical practice and benefits future generations of patients.
Ultimately, the Neurovascular Program is built on a single guiding principle: bringing cutting-edge science to the bedside to deliver safer, more effective, and more personalized care for patients with neurovascular disease.
NeuroVascular Facts and Figures
One in four people will have a stroke in their lifetime.
Every year there are 800,000 Americans who suffer from a stroke.
Acute ischemic stroke is a time-sensitive, life-threatening emergency. It is the leading cause of permanent disability and a leading cause of mortality.
