Biography

Angelina has had the privilege of being engaged in clinical, academic and translational research for more than 20 years, including 10 years with HonorHealth Research Institute. Angie’s research experience ranges from basic science to all phases of pharmacologic, device and surgical trials. She has in-depth experience in areas of research, including strategic leadership, site operations and management, program and project development, training and continuing education. She also is experienced in protocol development, protocol application, quality assurance/quality control, regulatory affairs, budgets, manuscript writing and — especially — the application of clinical procedures to research subjects in need of care. A clinical neuroscientist by education, she is particularly passionate and experienced in neuroscience research, including neurosurgery, neurovascular, behavioral health, neurology, and neuro-oncology. She also is experienced in other therapeutic areas, such as cardiovascular, pulmonology, oncology, urology, rheumatology, and infectious disease. Angie began her career as a Department of Defense contractor, focused on military medicine and research; and she continues to focus many of her efforts on the care of our active duty and veteran populations. Her undergraduate education is in Psychology, with a Neuroscience emphasis (University of California, San Diego), and graduate studies in Advanced Clinical Research and Evidence-Based Medicine (United States Navy, Department of Professional Education; University of California, San Diego). She is a Certified Clinical Research Professional through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), and Certified Research Professional through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). Angie volunteers as a chairperson for SOCRA Phoenix/Valley of the Sun chapter, where she applies her passion for clinical research education. She is a PRN instructor for clinical research education at Arizona State University-College of Health Solutions and Clinical Research Fastrack.
