Biography

Prior to moving to Arizona, Carolina Robertson lived in San Diego where she received firsthand experience in the medical field.

Starting off as a medical assistant while working at a private practice, San Diego Gastroenterology Associates, she learned the fundamentals of patient-facing procedures and clinic care. Actively seeking growth, she gained opportunities to further herself at Scripps Clinic Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla, where she became a specialist scheduler for various procedures in cardiology, nuclear medicine, radiology, and clinic follow-ups.

Carolina was highly valued by the physicians and the institute’s leadership for diligence, reliability, and desire to continually learn and improve skills. She continued to expand her career development when she joined Scripps’ Research Cardiovascular department. She progressed into a thoughtful and thorough clinical research coordinator committed to excellent patient service and research studies development.

Carolina arrived at HonorHealth Research Institute with 7 years of medical experience, which she put into practice in the Bariatrics and Gastrointestinal Research Division, working on numerous studies that range from gene-mutations causing obesity, weight loss, esophageal strictures, gastric reflux disease to eosinophilic esophagitis. During this time with Bariatrics, she gained experience with pediatric patients who experienced the same issues as adult patients. She has then transferred over to the Oncology and Hematology Pancreatic division of HonorHealth within the two years joining our organization. She hopes to continue her work in providing for the community. She is currently in a bachelor’s program in biomedical studies at Arizona State University.
