Biography

Javonna “Lucky” Calhoun believes research is the bridge between curiosity and meaningful change. With a commitment to continuous learning, Lucky views all development in research as productive, and supporting trauma research has uniquely inspired her. The forward-thinking, high-stakes efforts in trauma — where a split second can mean the difference between life and death — have deeply intrigued her and strengthened her resolve to advance this field.

In her role within HonorHealth Trauma Research, Lucky focuses on operational support, fostering collaborative systems, and ensuring projects move forward efficiently to improve patient care and outcomes. She is dedicated to expanding her knowledge in clinical research, data strategy, and technology integration within healthcare systems to support HonorHealth’s mission.

Lucky believes that if we do not serve one another with honor, we are not moving with purpose. For the next 7–10 years, she looks forward to growing within the research landscape, bringing curiosity, structured execution, and a commitment to service into every project she touches.

To her, LUCK truly means Learning Under Continuous Knowledge — a value she carries into each challenge and discovery within the research environment.
