Lundon Lee Bywater Lopez is Manager of Research Billing Compliance at HonorHealth. In this role, he and his team ensure research billing guidelines and compliance with local and national laws for hospital billing.
His team assists in mitigating research compliance issues and helping facilitate questions that other research staff may have about compliance and billing. His team conducts internal audits of HonorHealth Research Institute Clinical Trials to ensure patient financial safety, and contract guidelines are met with our research partnerships. He collaborates with other teams across the Research Institute to create standardization and process improvements that will positively impact patients and their families, leading to better quality care and better patient outcomes.
He is passionate about research and compliance because his father was a double-lung transplant patient. He saw how crucial it was to be compliant with treatment, procedures and finances, to provide the best care for his father. He appreciated his team’s multi-disciplinary approach and collaboration. After being on the other side of healthcare, as a caretaker for his father, he appreciated his team and their dedication to collaborate with all departments involved with his father’s treatment plans. He uses that experience to be a better manager at HonorHealth.
