Maribeth Schade is an accomplished research operations executive with more than 25 years of experience spanning academic medicine, hospital systems, and higher education. She currently serves as Senior Director of Research Operations and Administration at HonorHealth Research Institute, where she leads the Offices of Sponsored Programs, Investigator-Initiated Trials, Business Operations, Research Finance, Research Administration, and Research Systems. Her expertise spans regulatory compliance, grants management, shared resources, clinical trials, and enterprise-level research operations. Maribeth began her career in bench research before she transitioned into progressively senior administrative roles. Her leadership journey includes pivotal roles supporting developing medical school and hospital infrastructures, fiscal oversight, and strategic development at Tier One academic centers and hospital. As Deputy Associate Director at a Cancer Center, she played a vital role in securing a successful National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation renewal, ensuring long-term sustainability of cancer research and patient care initiatives. She has also established a comprehensive compliance program for a university spanning two states. A champion of cross-functional collaboration, Maribeth has implemented enterprise-wide process improvements, established high-performing research infrastructures, and launched partnerships with major institutions. Maribeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and a Master’s in Leadership. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding and farming, reflecting her commitment to both structure and simplicity in all areas of life.
