Marissa Lomeli is a Research Support Specialist with the HonorHealth Research Institute’s Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) Department. She supports research operations through contract and grant coordination, financial workflow management, compliance tracking, and operational support, partnering with investigators and cross-functional teams to facilitate efficient and compliant study execution.
Prior to joining the Research Institute, Marissa served as a Student Placement Coordinator at HonorHealth, where she acted as a key liaison among academic institutions, faculty, IT, security, and healthcare operations teams. She coordinated onboarding, access management, training, documentation, and process improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to institutional policies and regulatory requirements. She also led administration of the Arizona Board of Nursing grant aimed to support healthcare workforce that included supporting budgeting, invoicing, reporting, and compliance activities.
In her current role, Marissa supports contract and agreement tracking, grant coordination, budget and financial workflow monitoring, audit-ready documentation, and process standardization efforts across the department portfolios. Her experience in collaboration, compliance, and operational coordination helps support the continued growth and success of investigator-initiated research programs.
Marissa earned a Bachelor of Health and Science Studies from the University of Arizona.
