Ronald Velasquez, PharmD, is a Research Pharmacist who supports clinical research initiatives and investigational drug services, working closely with healthcare providers, investigators, and research teams to ensure medication safety, regulatory compliance, and the successful execution of research protocols. He is passionate about advancing patient care through evidence-based practice, innovation, and collaboration.
Ronald earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 2017. He subsequently completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at HonorHealth Shea Medical Center, where he developed a strong clinical foundation and a special interest in oncology and complex patient care. Following residency, he joined MD Anderson Cancer Center at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, where he further expanded his expertise in oncology pharmacy practice. In 2021, Ronald returned to HonorHealth Shea Medical Center to support the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) program, contributing to the care of patients undergoing highly specialized therapies before transitioning into his current research-focused role.
His professional interests include clinical research, oncology, investigational drug services, and improving healthcare outcomes through the integration of research and clinical practice.
Outside of work, Ronald is an avid endurance athlete who enjoys pushing his physical and mental limits through triathlons, centurion cycling, and ultramarathons. He values the discipline, resilience, and continuous pursuit of excellence required in endurance sports and applies those same principles to his professional life and patient care.
