Prior to moving into her current role as a Clinical Research Nurse, Sandra Margetis graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing and subsequently obtained her Master’s in Business Administration from Campbell University School of Business. Through a 30-year career in Nursing and Business, she has gained extensive clinical experience along with a diverse business knowledge base. During her time at HonorHealth she has acted as a patient advocate for the GI Oncology team, providing external and internal patient care coordination along with patient/family education and smooth patient transition to next level care. She also serves on the Research Institute’s Oncology Palliative Care Committee, HonorHealth Ambassador Program, and has earned HonorHealth Nurse designation within her first two years. Additionally, she served in an active duty and reserve capacity as a U.S. Air Force Flight Nurse with responsibility for aeromedical evacuation (AE) operations during peacetime and wartime military mobilizations. She considers the past three years in her current role the ultimate in encore careers.
