Shirley Meli brings more than 25 years of healthcare and clinical research experience to her role as a Clinical Trial Coverage Analyst. A Vocational Nursing graduate in 1998, she entered the dialysis field in 2000 as a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT), providing care in outpatient, acute care, and intensive care settings. She also served as a Team Lead and Preceptor for 14 years, supporting staff training, mentorship, and professional development.
From 2013 to 2018, Shirley combined patient care with research coordination, building a strong foundation in nephrology research and clinical trial operations. She actively supported the National Kidney Foundation through community events and awareness initiatives. In 2018, she joined HonorHealth as a Clinical Research Coordinator II, supporting bariatric research, and later advanced to a Clinical Research Coordinator III role supporting oncology research, including pancreatic cancer studies. Since 2021, she has specialized in Research Epic builds, contributing to treatment plan development and protocol amendment processing. In her current role, she supports clinical trial operations through coverage analysis, Research Epic builds, and clinical research systems.
