Biography

Theresa Acuña is a proud graduate of Arizona State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Driven by her passion for science and healthcare innovation, she is currently advancing her education by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research Management with an emphasis in Regulatory Science.

During her time at ASU, Theresa was deeply involved in research. This included genomics research analyzing the expression of sex chromosome genes in cancer cell lines and biology education research assessing stress levels among pre-medical students, which resulted in a co-authored publication in Advances in Physiology Education.

Theresa has successfully applied her diverse research skills in her current role as a Clinical Research Coordinator at HonorHealth Research Institute. Her work is focused on the early detection of pancreatic cancer, contributing to critical research efforts aimed at identifying cancer at its most treatable stages.

Her commitment to excellence is evident through her collaboration with multidisciplinary departments to ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance. She actively assists in developing standard work procedures to streamline processes and improve study efficiency, while always offering support to her colleagues. Theresa’s work consistently reflects HonorHealth’s mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
